We do not use any anti-caking agents to our products, so it stands to reason the moisture drawn in by some of the ingredients such as the mint in the Magirefta, is how will salt hardens. It does not interfere with the taste or quality. Just give it a few gentle taps with the back of a large spoon, rolling pin or meat mallet, being careful not to split the packet.
If you have decanted into another vessel, use the end of a spoon to loosen.
We think this is a small compromise to enure that your products stay pure, with NO NASTIES and no preservatives, just the goodness of seasonings and spices.
Nuts! We use fresh nuts in our Dukkah and our Pol Lunu Salt, which is a nod to the coconut flavours of Old Ceylon, now known as Sri Lanka. The oils from the nuts can seep through the packet. We opted for Biofilm eco friendly packets which do not have any plastics inside, so the 'bleeding' of the oil seeps through. It will not affect the quality of the product. You can be assured it's fresh and contains the real thing!
